Welcome To The JCCRM Web Site
In 1996, the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Atomic Energy Commission
(CNEA) signed the "Implementing Arrangement between the Department of
Energy of the United States of America and the National Atomic Energy Commission of the Argentine
Republic for Technical Exchange and Cooperation in the Area of Radioactive and Mixed Waste
Management." The objective of this agreement is to promote
international scientific cooperation. The duration of the bilateral agreement is ten years.
This agreement is managed by the Joint Coordinating Committee for Radioactive and Mixed Waste
Management (JCCRM), which meets annually to assess program progress, review and approve proposals,
evaluate potential future activities, share experiences, and develop innovative technologies jointly
in three areas of cooperation. Under the JCCRM, a variety of activities are authorized including
technical workshops, technology development, technology deployment, and scientist exchanges.
